African students can get a variety of international scholarships, such as government scholarships, Commonwealth scholarships, and university scholarships.

To study anywhere:

  • Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) Fund – African scientists who want to get a master’s degree in a field related to disease control in Africa can get graduate scholarships to pay for it.
  • Scholarship winners can choose to study at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in London, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, or Nagasaki University in Japan.
  • Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship Program – African students with a master’s degree or PhD can get money to study anywhere in the world based on how much they need it.
  • Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships – African students in the Commonwealth can get international scholarships to study for a part-time master’s degree by distance learning at certain universities in the UK and around the world.
  • The Beit Trust Scholarships – African students from Malawi, Zambia, or Zimbabwe can get master’s and PhD scholarships to study at a top university in the UK, Ireland, or South Africa.
  • For the Beit Trust scholarship, applicants must have been accepted to the university.
  • Wells Mountain Foundation Scholarships – Scholarships based on need for students from developing countries, like Africa, so they can go to college at home or in another developing country.
  • Candidates must plan to work and live in their own country after they graduate, and they must be enrolled in a program that will help the community or the country grow.
  • Women Techmakers Scholars Program – Women from Africa, Europe, and the Middle East can get scholarships to study computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field at any level at a university in one of these regions.
  • Rotary Peace Fellowships – Fellowships for people who want to get a master’s degree that pay for tuition, housing, transportation, and field studies.
  • Students from any African country can apply, and those who are chosen will be able to study at some of the best universities in the world.
